Amy Martin comes to TCTA from the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry where she served as Associate Vice President of Environment and Energy. In this role she led the Chamber¹s legislative and policy initiatives in the areas of environment and energy.
Prior to joining the Tennessee Chamber, she worked at the Tennessee Valley Authority as the Government Relations Manager in Middle Tennessee. In this capacity she worked day-to-day with state and local officials as well as the district congressional offices on numerous energy, environment and economic development issues.
She was formerly appointed by the White House to serve as Policy Advisor to the Federal Co-Chair of the Appalachian Regional Commission. During her tenure, she was responsible for the development of policy initiatives and matters affecting the Commissioner in the area of rural economic and community development. She previously served as the Legislative Liaison for the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance. In this role, she advised the Department¹s Commissioner on legislative matters and maintained the Department¹s relationship with the Tennessee General Assembly and the Governor¹s Office of Legislative Affairs.
Martin currently serves on the Hands On Nashville Board and previously served on the Carson Newman College Alumni Board. She is a 2014 graduate of Leadership Middle Tennessee and a graduate of the 2008 TVA/Vanderbilt Leadership and Management for Accelerated Performance Class. She is a graduate of Carson-Newman College where she earned a bachelor¹s degree in Political Science. Martin is a native of Elizabethton and now resides in Nashville with her husband, Cory and their two children.
